Species Name: Flumph

Normal Appearance: Flumphs are small to medium sized entities with mushroom shaped heads with eyestalks and tentacles protruding form the top and bottom. Using little biological jets to propel themselves wherever they wish to go, these jets are what give the Flumphs their name due to the sounds they make when pumping air.
Name Puns: Mushroom like names. I.E. Shrooma
Species Abilities:
Natural Flight: Flumphs are born capable of flight due to the jets on their undersides. This means they do not have to use ki to get around via this method... as it is the only way they can get around as is.
Psionic abilities: Flumphs are naturally born with the ability to manipulate their brain waves in a manner similar to magic. While not quite as potent in some areas this does allow them easier access to abilities like mental images to stun an opponent or a greater telekinesis. This also allows for free Telepathy, this begins at a base tier, only allowed for use on people on the same planet as yourself.
Species Powers:
Natural Mood Ring: Flumphs change color based on their moods. For instance, red for anger, Green for curiosity, and Blue for Shyness.
Telepathic Communication: While maintaining a mouth, Flumphs prefer to communicate telepathically rather than vocally as it requires less effort and greater emotion can be expressed that way.

Weaknesses:
Electromagnets and machinery: Many machines and magnets let off frequencies that disrupt the psionics of the Flumph, giving them nausea and headaches. They tend to avoid large cities for this matter.
A lack of limbs: Due to their lack of limbs, Flumphs tend to have a very hard time fighting and their psionic abilities usually cannot supplement this weakness. This however does not prevent them form using their tentacles to lift books and the like. They are just far too flimsy for practical combat use.
History: Flumphs are ancient creatures that tend to hide from humanity, seeking places to learn and preferably alone... or at least that is how it was for a very long time. Until recently when the beings learned that cities and towns were the center of human learning and teaching, seeking out these places to expand their knowledge. While these beings have extensive knowledge on all things Earth related very little is known about them. All that is known, is that they can outlive many humans by hundreds of years with ease and seem to clash with all common thought of biology. However further study has shown that they are in many ways similar to octopi and humans both, but fit into neither category with ease.
